473 Yards – Blue Tees – #7 Handicap Hole
463 Yards – White Tees – #7 Handicap Hole
380 Yards – Red/Gold Tees – #3 Handicap Hole
The 1st and opening hole at Woodcrest Golf Club is a short Par 5, with the Blue and White tees fronted by a small pond.
With the fairway bordered by the 2nd fairway, on the left, and 9th fairway, on the right, hazards include a larger pond between the 1st and 2nd fairways, reachable from all tees.
Trees line the right rough until the fairway inclines near the blue 200 yard (to the center of the green) marker. A recently filled ravine and water catch basin, left of the fairway are situated just in front of the red 100 yard( to the center of the green) marker. A bridge, for golf carts crossing the ravine, is situated to the left.
A medium sized green, sloping right to left, is guarded front right by a sand bunker making a difficult up and down.
Playing Tip: If you hit the ball long enough and with accuracy to leave yourself a less than 200 yard second shot to the green, by all means a Driver off the tee can afford you a chance at an easy birdie. Otherwise, a conservative well placed shot, followed by a layup close to the 100 Yard to the Center of the Green Marker can almost guarantee a chance at a two putt par. As the green slopes dramatically right to left any putt from above the hole may result in a longer putt coming back uphill than the original downhill one.
